I Believe Doing Nothing Is Worse Than Exercising Wrong

People often say you shouldn’t do an exercise if you don’t know how to do it properly. They say it’s dangerous. But you know what’s really dangerous? Doing nothing.
Nobody is born knowing how to squat, deadlift, or bench press the right way. In the beginning, nobody does it perfectly, and that’s okay. Your body isn’t ready yet. Maybe you’re missing some strength or balance. But you still have to try.
You might feel unsure, a little uncomfortable, but that’s how you learn. You can start with no weights. Maybe just a few reps. That’s fine. Every rep teaches your body something new: balance, control, coordination.
Next time, you’ll feel more comfortable. Next week, you’ll move more smoothly. And one day, you’ll do it naturally without even thinking about it.
Don’t skip an exercise because you’re afraid you’re not doing it exactly right. Everyone in that gym started the same way. The worst thing is never starting.
And if you’re not sure you can do this on your own, ask for help. Our partners offer many ways to support you, from group training sessions to private sessions with a trainer. You can also find lots of helpful tips in our My FlexiSport portal.
Take your time, but don’t stop yourself just because it’s not perfect yet. Something new always feels strange at first. Keep going, and one day you’ll look back and see how much you’ve improved.
You can set a simple goal. For example, in one year, I will know 20 exercises that I can do well. The next year, you can add 10 more.
We wish you luck. And we’re here to support you.
